Gates of Hope International Update

Dear GOHI Friends,
We have just completed our GOHI leaders conference in Switzerland. Thank you so much for your prayers and support for what proved to be a highly strategic, inspiring and challenging meeting of leaders, who are pushing forward with significant Kingdom initiatives in some of the most difficult parts of the world such as Israel, Russia, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Arabic speaking nations. For them, especially, the time of fellowship, training, envisioning and equipping was absolutely vital and they have returned to their locations fired up and excited at all that God is now doing through the ministry.
It was thrilling and hugely encouraging to hear reports from places as far apart as Malaysia and Morocco, Israel and Russia of major breakthroughs in people’s lives. And it was such a blessing that a ceasefire in Israel enabled our leaders there to escape the sirens, and almost nightly visits to their bomb shelter, for a period of healing and personal recovery. It seems as though God is also expanding the horizons of the ministry, with new works opening up in places as diverse as Poland, Italy, South Sudan and India.
Last year many of you contributed towards the costs of filming a series of videos in English and Arabic, which were planned to put down firm foundations for new believers in the Arabic speaking nations – teaching them about healing and how God restores the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. In Switzerland we heard how through the use of memory sticks these videos are now being used by believers in 22 different Arabic speaking nations bringing hope, healing and discipleship to people in the Islamic world, in places where it is often impossible or dangerous for people to visit personally.
What also emerged from our conference was an urgent need for new ministry courses and online training materials in multiple languages, providing solid spiritual foundations to underpin the works being developed by new leaders. We are going to be very busy in the next few months developing and providing materials which will have the effect of multiplying the fruit of the ministry in many different parts of the world. The cost of producing these in both time and money is significant, but the eternal fruit will be great.
After many years of waiting, the Israeli government have finally granted permission for the work in Israel, known as Sha’arei Tikva (Gates of Hope) to be legally established as an Israeli charity. The legal costs of this have been high, but this means that we can now move forward with establishing our own physical base in the land, to which people can come for training and personal ministry. In the midst of all the pain and suffering there has been, this is a huge step forward, preparing the way for ministering to a nation of hurting people, both Jew and Arab, after the war is over.
In Switzerland the theme of my teaching was Full Circle – how in many different ways it seems as though we have gone full circle and that once again God is expanding our horizons beyond anything we could have thought or dreamed of. We are so grateful for the help you have given to bring GOHI this far, but as I trust you will now appreciate, we are on the edge of needing significant further funds to support the work in Israel and the Middle East, and to expand our on-line resources so that wherever in the world God opens doors, we will have the means to support the leaders with life-changing resources.
Please accept the grateful thanks of all the GOHI leaders for your encouragement and support. Anything you can now do to help us take the work forward, in this developing season for the ministry, will be very much appreciated.
