GOHI Newsmail – August 2024
“And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come”
(Matthew 24:14)
Dear GOHI Friends,
As I write this, the world’s turmoil increases. Since my last Newsmail the impending war between Israel and the surrounding nations has moved ever closer. The world holds its breath as airlines begin to cancel their flights to Tel Aviv, wondering what will happen next as Iran flexes its muscles and Israel is ever-ready to defend itself.
In the USA the ramifications of an assassination attempt on Donald Trump highlighted the fragility of the world’s political giants. And the UK General election brought about both a massive change of government and radical re-assessment of national and international policies.
Right now, uncertainty and fear are the prevailing emotions on the world’s stage. And in the midst of it all the Olympic Games sends out a message of ‘peace between nations’, but it is a false message of “peace, peace, where there is no peace” (Jeremiah 6:14). The nations conspire together and ignore the Anointed one of God (see Psalms 2:1-5), while at the same time attempting to solve the world’s problems without reference to the world’s Creator!
The Gospel of the Kingdom
It is in this scenario, that Jesus prophesied the Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to the nations, before God winds up history and the end will come. The urgency of the day gripped all the GOHI leaders as they recently gathered at Basel in Switzerland for our first Leaders Conference.
It was an utterly precious and very blessed time together as God challenged and encouraged us with the great commission He has given to His people. We can read John’s Gospel Chapter 3, and rejoice in the wonderful message of the cross which is encapsulated in verse 16, and forget that this whole discourse between Jesus and Nicodemus began by Jesus telling Nicodemus that no-one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again (John 3:3). For the Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom.
When we see and experience the reality of the Kingdom of God our eternal security in the Lord and the knowledge of His love overtakes and overwhelms all the fears and uncertainties, knowing that whatever happens we are safe in Him.
Pray for the GOHI Arab World Teaching Conference
By the time you read this, the Arab World teaching and training conference will have begun. The main objective is to record teaching on video presenting the essential message of the Gospel of the Kingdom.
The recordings will be used in the Arabic speaking world and will be provided freely through leaders in these regions. The intention is to strengthen, equip and bring healing to the Body of Christ in these nations, and to Arabic speakers spread across the world, encouraging them to reach the lost for Jesus and bring God’s hope and healing to His people.
Delegates are attending from various places in the Middle East. We praise the Lord for those who have managed to obtain visas and been able to come – but the recordings need no visa to cross the boundaries of the twenty-two Arabic speaking nations! We value your prayers in these coming days.
Please pray for strong and deeply meaningful relationships to be made and built within God’s precious family. It is through His family, belonging to Him, that He strengthens and heals hearts and pushes back enemy action.
As GOHI, we believe passionately about how God’s relational family is His purpose for the end time church, to be strongly built so that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. We are children of our Heavenly Father, sons and heirs of His promises and given the commission by Jesus to bring the Kingdom of God down to earth, as it is in Heaven (the Lord’s prayer). Where we dwell in unity together, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we will see the blessing and power of God manifest, bringing much Glory to His name.
